The easiest and fastest way to upload your photographs or video is by FTP (File Transfer Protocol). You can use your browser or a FTP program to FTP the files to us. The procedure for uploading the files is different for each type of browser. You can click on the links at the bottom of the page for instructions for your browser.
Photographs - Prior to uploading the photographs, it is best to do some minor modifications.
The photos must be in either GIF or JPEG format. We recommend that they be in JPEG
format since they will look much better than GIF. If you look at the demos on the
free listing page, you will note that the slideshows have a short title for each
photo. If you want titles for your photos, then rename the photo file with the title
that you want. For example, the file ‘Cutting the cake.jpg’ tells us to use the
title ‘Cutting the cake’ for the slideshow. Use a maximum of 4 words or the title
may not show up in the slideshow. If you don’t want titles, then rename the files
1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, etc. This will tell us that you want the titles left blank.
It is best to place the pictures in a folder with your business name as the file
name. For example: place the files in a folder named ‘My Business Name’. Doing this
allows you to only upload one folder rather than each individual photograph.
In summary:
1. We recommend sending us files in the JPG format
2. Rename your individual photo files with a short title (max. 4 short words). For example ‘Bride’s Family.jpg’
3. Rename your photograph files as 1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc. if you do not want titles.
4. Place the individual photograph files in a folder with the name of your business.
Video - Video can be in either VOB or AVI format. VOB (DVD) format is preferred
due to the smaller file size. AVI files are very large and can take a long time for
you to transmit them.. You can either FTP the file to us or mail a DVD. Our mailing
address is listed under Contact Us. As with photographs, place the video file in
a folder named for your business.
