Do you really need a wedding planner? In order to answer this question, consider the following:
1. What size wedding do you want? (small, medium, large)
2. Do you have the time, patience, and expertise to plan it yourself? Are you in school or working?
3. Should you plan it with the help of a relative or friend?
4. Who is paying for the wedding? (Bride’s parents, bride, both bride and fiancé, and are the fiancé's parents contributing.)

Basically, if the wedding is very small, your budget is extremely limited, and/or you have the time and expertise, you probably can handle the arrangements yourself. However, keep in mind that if others are contributing money for the wedding, they will probably expect some input or approval for the arrangements or that this can lead to high stress and/or strained relations. Although weddings should be a time of great joy and happiness, in many cases they can be very stressful and result in strained relationships with family members and/or friends.
If you can afford it, have limited time and/or expertise, and funds are coming from other present or future family members, then we would recommend that you obtain the services of an experienced wedding planner. They can handle the details, work with and suggest suppliers (flowers, receptions, etc.), reduce stress levels, help with budgets, and make recommendations to make your day a memorable one.
